Digitalis purpurea 'Excelsior Mix'

  • Elegant spires of foxglove flowers in a rustic colour mix
  • Blooms face outwards on strong, upright stems
  • Ideal for cottage gardens and naturalistic planting
  • Biennial or short lived perennial that self seeds readily

Digitalis purpurea ‘Excelsior Mix’ is a classic foxglove variety admired for its tall, graceful flower spikes and softly blended colours. Flowers appear in shades of pink, cream, apricot and rose, held all around the stem in an outward-facing arrangement that creates a more open and elegant display than traditional foxgloves.

Perfect for cottage gardens and informal planting schemes, ‘Excelsior Mix’ thrives in sun or partial shade with moist, well drained soil. Flowering in early to mid summer, it provides height and structure at the back of borders and pairs beautifully with roses, delphiniums and other traditional perennials. Easy to grow and excellent for naturalising, plants will often self seed gently to return year after year.
